Concepts of healing and health have always been of interest to
Doug and led him into the practice of counseling. His practice of health care
is based on the belief that health is not a state to be achieved but a way of
experiencing and being. An attraction and fascination with the unique
perspectives of Chinese philosophers and artists led him to the study of tai
qi, qi gong, and acupuncture. He has practiced Classical Five Element
Acupuncture since 1986. In dancing through the garden of form and
energetics, his steps have also been led by the Alexander Technique, Bikram
yoga, Feldenkrais, Flower Essences, Pilates, Plant Spirit Medicine, Vipassana
and Zazen.
These steps are now being shaped and expanded by the choreography of
Heart Rhythm Meditation. His perceptions and expressions of them have been
enhanced and expanded. The depth and width of this work captures and
challenges his curiosity. His teaching grows out of his delight in seeing how
Heart Rhythm Meditation changes those whose lives it touches.
